Em Ryan is a National Certified Counsellor and a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, providing online therapy and clinical supervision. She works with Insight Matters in Ireland and Better Help in the UK, offering therapy where you are. She is an American born Irish Citizen working with Irish, UK and US clients online and Spanish clients in person. Em is fully accredited in the US by the NBCC and in the UK by the BACP. She is also featured in Psychology Today. She maintains current liability insurance. Em Ryan has over two decades of experience working with children, teens and adults. She is ready to help you on your journey. Furthermore, Em keeps current with over 30 hours of additional training each year. She is currently studying for her certification in EMDR for advanced trauma treatment. She plans to pursue a course in hypnotherapy in 2026.

Therapeutic Specialties
Em Ryan of Anam Cara Therapy is a sought after speaker on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in school and corporate settings. As a result, Em can present to your group on a variety of hot topics. These presentations are limited to in person groups in Spain.
Why not organise a retreat to Spain to experience a Mindfulness Workshop firsthand, a walking mindful meditation with Em, an Energy Therapy session or a Sound Bath? Em Ryan often incorporates these healing modalities in her psychotherapeutic work.
Em offers individual and group sessions as well as occasional workshops.
Certified Counsellor Online Therapy
Em earned her Bachelors Degree from Fordham University in New York City. She earned her Masters Degree (Level 9, Honours) from The College of New Jersey. She earned her diploma in Sound Therapy from The Sound Healing Academy in Cornwall, England and her diploma in Integrative Supervision from the IICP in Dublin, Ireland. Recently, Em has received an honorary PhD in Metaphysics from Universal Life Church. Em attended UPV in France and UCR in Costa Rica. Additionally, Em Ryan is functionally fluent in French and Spanish and sometimes counsels in these languages. At times, Em may employ alternative therapies in her healing work such as Sound Therapy, the Emotional Freedom Technique or the Energy Therapy Technique.
Em Ryan has several specialty certifications. She has been delivering therapy online since 2015 via Better Help in the US. During the pandemic, Em trained fellow counsellors in delivering psychotherapy online. Online platforms were able to connect clients and counsellors at a time when office sessions were not advisable. Anam Cara Therapy offers online therapy in the UK, Ireland, US, Spain and beyond.
